Viewing MOSS/WSS document library in Explorer View using Windows Server 2008

Can’t view MOSS/WSS document library in Explorer View using Windows Server 2008

If you try to view a document library in Explorer View you get the message “Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage”.

To resolve this you’ll need to add the "Desktop Experience" feature for Win2008

 To enable this feature:

  • Go to the Server Manager
  • Click Add Features
  • Select the Desktop Experience check box and click next to install this feature
  • You will need to restart the server for this feature to be installed

PS. If you installed the WebDav service for IIS7 you'll need to uninstall it from Programs and Features.

You should now be able to view your WSS document library in Explorer View.
